Winter done right

As far as I'm concerned, if the temperature outside is going to be below zero and we're going to call this season "winter", then we might as well have snow.

Lots of it.

So you can imagine how excited I was to look out the window this morning. With so many of the forecasted storms amounting to nothing in our area, I was honestly caught off guard this time. There was just too much snow to bike to work safely. It's not that I mind walking, but I hadn't allowed enough time for it. I set off at breakneck trudging speed through snow well above the tops of my boots. Twenty eight minutes later I arrived at work. Two minutes early and thoroughly warm.

Lesson learned: when the forecast is calling for stormy weather, set the alarm for at least a few minutes earlier than usual!
